June 2025 Newsletter
Welcome summer! School is out, and pools are open. With warmer weather, your fridge is going to see a lot more activity. Clean out expired food items and wipe down the shelves. Do the same with your freezer and ice maker. If you have filters on your fridge, get those swapped out, also.
If you’re planning on going on vacation, update your security measures. To make your home look like someone is there, put lights on timers. If you have a security system, make sure the batteries are good. Add smart locks for any pet or plant sitters. On your home’s exterior, trim shrubbery to eliminate hiding spots. Put away and lock up ladders and lawn equipment. Replace any burned-out light bulbs or add motion-sensing lights. Make sure all windows are locked.
If you’re staying home, take some time to clean fan blades and replace light bulbs. Check your window screens and repair any that are ripped. Make sure your first aid kit is current, and check on emergency supplies for tornado season. If you haven’t done it yet, make sure your sprinkler system is working correctly. Another chore you can do is organize your shed or garage.
One more thing to do is make a list of FUN things you want to do this summer. Post it where you can see it, along with everyone else in the home. Don’t let summer slip by before you realize it.
Building Update
We are getting closer! Drywall and interior painting are done. We’re working on trim and office cabinetry.
Tour of Remodeled Homes
During the recent Tour of Remodeled Homes, we held a drawing for a teddy bear in each home. Pictured here is one of the winners. Maverick looks pretty happy with his new friend.

Here is our featured project for June: Rolling Meadows
Design Corner
Recently, we had a call asking if we could put roll-out shelves in existing cabinets. Our answer? Absolutely. As people are opting to age-in-place more and more, this is one feature that helps with that endeavor. Whether you are modifying existing cabinets, or adding new, pull-outs are the way to go.

Fun Fact
If you’re looking for a trip that also gets some steps in, one journey you could take is from Cape Town (South Africa) to Magadan, Russia. This is the longest road in the world, with bridges where needed. No need for planes or boats. It would be 187 days walking non-stop on this 13,911-mile trip, or 561 days walking 8 hours per day. You would pass through 17 countries and six time zones.
