The project coordinator’s primary role is to estimate remodeling projects and prepare the details of the remodeling projects for the production team. The project coordinator will work under the direction of the project consultant. There will be opportunities to design projects by using our drawing programs.

The collaborative goal between the project coordinator and the project consultant is to sell, design, and estimate the best project for the customer to fall in love with. Then, they are to set up the production team for success by efficiently passing on the project information.

Roles & Duties

• Estimating:
  • Develop the scope of work for the construction proposal — reviewed by the project consultant.
  • Estimate direct project costs, including materials, labor, subcontractor, and other direct costs using our estimating catalog — reviewed by the project consultant.
  • Have a broad knowledge of building products and construction practices.

• Pre-Construction:
  • Prepare job folders for the production manager.
  • Enter project information into BuilderTrend, including documents, plans, selections, and all other important information for the production team.
  • Notify subcontractors of job sold status and finalize sub-quotes to match the project’s scope of work.
  • Create/draw permit plans and obtain approved building permits.
  • Walk-through and demonstrate BuilderTrend with customers.
  • Finalize selections with the customer.
  • Order products assigned to Designer & Estimator in the “Who Orders What” sheet.
  • Prepare siding and deck material orders for the production manager to review.
  • Make check-in calls to pre-construction customers to update the status of the project.

• Construction:
  • Estimate, enter, and finalize change orders — reviewed by project consultant.
  • Visit job sites to see progress throughout the job and build relationships with the homeowners.
  • Schedule a final walk-through at the end of each project.

• Other Duties:
  • Attend one-on-one regular meetings with the project consultant.
  • Record lead activities in BuilderTrend and keep lead information up to date.
  • Update the lead status on James Hardie & Andersen logins.
  • Update catalogs, brochures, and samples each January (before Home & Garden Show in February).
  • Work at the Home & Garden Show, Remodelers Tour, and maybe other events. (H&G Show & Remodeler Tour are on weekends.)

• Design: These duties are as-needed in support of the project consultant:
  • Create feasibility estimates if you’re needed to create them — reviewed by the project consultant.
  • Work within our design/development process alongside the project consultant.
  • Measure the existing home for drawings and measurements.
  • Build accurate drawings, 3D renderings, and elevations of projects using Chief Architect, Home Designer Pro & Hover.
  • Provide product selection assistance — can request assistance from a designer if needed.
