Thank You For Your Continued Support
We can’t say it enough. Thank you for making Willet Construction a success! We love our clients and being able to do what we can to help them love their homes. Your satisfaction is our number one priority. We work very hard to make sure everyone on our staff, as well as those we work along-side in various trades, have the same dedication to you and your home. You are the heart of Willet Construction and we appreciate you.
Winter to-dos
As usual, our February weather has had its ups and downs. We’ve had some tastes of spring, but then get reminded it’s still winter. Here are some things you can do around the house to help the time go a bit faster while we wait for true warmer weather:
- clean and vacuum curtains, window blinds, and ceiling fans.
- Clean your garbage disposal – run with crushed ice to sharpen, then with baking soda and citrus peels.
- Check caulking and grout around sinks, showers, and tubs. Repairing these when they first begin to show wear will help deter more significant problems later.
- While you get ready for taxes, take the opportunity to toss out paperwork that has piled up and file or organize the rest. A tidy home helps ease anxiety.
Doing the little things will help you love being home. If there is anything we can do to help you fall in love with your home again, give us a call!
Project Focus Birch Hollow Kitchen & Flooring
It was important for these homeowners to maintain the look of the home; they just needed some changes made to improve the function. In the kitchen, they wanted to add a second oven for holidays and family gatherings, so everyone isn’t clustered in the same area trying to work. We removed the cabinets from the fridge to the left, building a cabinet for the refrigerator, adding drawers, and leveling the uppers. New cabinet lighting was added, along with new backsplash and countertops. Uppers that were near the sink area were removed to open up the room.

Throughout the house, the carpet was removed and replaced with hardwoods. They wanted something that would look good with the existing cabinets, as well as the trim work around the house. In the laundry and upstairs bathrooms, they opted for luxury vinyl plank, which stands up to water and pets. Throughout the house, there are seamless transitions from one room to the next, making it seem as if the flooring has always been there.
The 48th Annual Home & Garden Show
The 48th Annual Home & Garden show was held February 7-9th at the Lancaster Event Center. This year’s Home & Garden show was Willet Construction’s 20th year participating! It is always great to catch up with previous clients and professional organizations we work with throughout the year. It’s interesting to see what’s new while visiting with those who have been around awhile. If you were there, we hope you stopped by to see us. Don’t worry if you missed us; you can stop by next year or contact us today!
Meet Kali Pavlik! Kali is a Junior at UNL from Crofton, NE, studying Interior Design. She has already been able to apply the experience she has gained with Willet Construction to her studies. She can take what she’s learned in school and apply it to real-world situations in her work at WCI Kitchen & Bath Design Center. Combining the two helps give her a more well-rounded design education. After graduation, Kali hopes to move west to join other family members and enjoy the mountains. Kali is a competitive archer, plays the guitar, and enjoys spending time with her new puppy.
