December 2024 Newsletter
We made it to the last month of 2024. For some, there are many parties and get-togethers; for others, there are quiet evenings in (sometimes) snowy surroundings. Hopefully, your calendar has just the right number of entries. If you are hosting company this month, here are some things to keep your kitchen running smoothly:
- Check your oven seal for cracks and wear.
- Clean or replace the filter on your range hood.
- Clean or replace the drip trays on your stove.
- Sharpen your knives.
- Check the hoses on your dishwasher, refrigerator, and washing machine for leaks.
In the bathroom:
- Clean the shower curtain or doors, and look for signs of mildew or black mold.
- Restock the first aid kit.
- Vacuum the bath fans to get rid of dust and debris.
- Clean out your drains to prevent clogs.
Enjoy the meaningful activities this time of year can bring, and remember you can say, “No, thank you,” when you start to feel overwhelmed. Before you know it, 2025 will be knocking on the door, and we’ll start another year.
We want to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and a fabulous 2025. We appreciate your patronage and value your friendship. We love what we do and are so thankful for the customers who trust us to apply our skills to make their homes a place they love.
Last month, a little team building was done in Kansas. Rick, Jason, Eric, and Jonathan took a couple of days to do some fishing at Milford Lake for blue catfish. Altogether, they caught 36 fish, and Eric caught an albino blue catfish! Thanks to Bryan Pinick with “Whiskers” Guided Fishing. If you enjoy fishing, we highly recommend it.
Building update: We have a solid foundation! Next, the framing begins.
Recently, we had a home-school group tour Willet Construction and the WCI Kitchen & Bath Design Center to see what we do and get a feel for the work we perform.

Design Corner
Minimalist design is similar to modern design, with simple shapes and clean lines but with a “less is more” attitude. Everything in the space must serve a purpose — not many objects or layers. Frank Lloyd Wright is considered a minimalist designer, letting the natural surroundings do the decorating. He often used built-in furniture and open floor plans filled with natural light from skylights and clerestory windows.
Fun Fact
Even though the word is in its name, nutmeg is not a nut, so it doesn’t threaten those with nut allergies. Nutmeg is the seed kernel of the fruit of the nutmeg tree. There are some health benefits to ingesting nutmeg, but it can be toxic if used in large quantities. Taking two tablespoons or more can produce symptoms of nutmeg poisoning.
