Swan Creek Workshop
Back to all projects
It may not be Santa’s workshop, but it’s pretty magical. Being a serious craftsman and hobbyist, this homeowner needed a proper workshop for his violin crafting. This room started out as the 4th stall of a garage that wasn’t being used, so we enclosed the space.
Besides building the wall, framing included tapered floor joists to level out the floor. Insulation was included in the new wall, and drywall for both sides. Access was created with double doors to make moving furniture and equipment slick as snow. The room also has its own mini split system to keep the workspace climatized.
Pine carsiding was installed on the accent wall, as well as the underside of the suspended storage. Access to the loft is via a rolling library ladder.
