Wilderness Hills Multi-Room Remodel
Back to all projects
A cramped kitchen was expanded to create a large space perfect for hosting gatherings. The homeowner said she used to get trapped in her kitchen, now traffic flows smoothly around a large island.
We expanded the kitchen into what was once the laundry room, then converted a seldom used office into the new laundry space and moved the door to the garage.
Along with white uppers with seeded glass panels, the lower cabinets were constructed with rift white oak in a Nude Gris finish, as was the range hood. Most of the previous kitchen & laundry cabinets were moved to the new laundry area and painted.
The window above the sink was widened and all the first-floor trim was updated with taller base boards to dress things up.
As an added bonus, the homeowners were able to get a box out of storage that contained a pair of antique lamps. An electrician re-wired them, and they now have a permanent place on full display.
Some of the new features in the kitchen include a charging drawer, under cabinet lighting and outlets, a mixer shelf, and organizers for some of the drawers and cabinets.
