Hickman Ridge
Back to all projects
After living in this home for 20 years, the owners were ready to ditch the oak and tan pallet and update the entire main floor of their home.
In the kitchen, the cabinets and flooring were removed, updated electrical supply roughed-in, and new subfloor installed to prepare for new flooring. New cabinets now wrap the room and go all the way to the ceiling, significantly increasing storage. While the perimeter cabinets are all white, the island is now a painted maple with a herringbone tile pattern on the seating side. And rather than having a raised bar, the island is all one level for increased work surface.
Instead of the 4” backsplash previously in the room, tile covers the entire wall between the countertop and upper cabinets, and to the ceiling at the window and range. The sit-down desk area was replaced with a cabinet for a standing desk area with a lift door and file drawers beneath.
