Back to all projects
It all started with an inquiry about a pergola or something to shade the deck. Shade was a very important aspect to this project; 3D renderings were created to model accurate sun angles for various dates throughout the year to determine how much roof cover the client would need over the deck. We ended up with a majestic roof cover with a screened-in area on one side of the deck and an expanded master suite on the other.
First the existing improperly built deck in front of the sunroom needed to be removed and repaired. Several LVL beams were brought in for the new roof cover. A screened-in area was added in front of the sunroom, connected with a new patio door. New can lights and ceiling fan were installed.
The existing overhang was removed in front of the great room. Beams were brought in, and a new gable roof was framed. Custom cedar trusses were installed using 6x10 roughsawn beams. Woodgrain PVC carsiding was installed on the ceiling, along with can lights and a ceiling fan. Stone was applied to the exterior columns.
For the master bedroom, the exterior stone was removed from the existing fireplace to allow for the addition, along with the existing deck. New walls and roof were framed in. A new Andersen E Series patio door and window were installed. Recessed lighting was added to the sitting area, along with a new ceiling fan. Ceiling beams were also added in the addition to the sloped ceiling and a Heat N Glo fireplace finished the room.
