DEC2020: READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS?

family-footer

Merry Christmas and welcome December and the end of 2020! Everyone is ready for this year to end. If you have company over the holidays, consider new holiday bedding for the guest room. This will perk everyone’s spirits. You can add coordinating towels, a basket for water and travel-size toiletries. If you’re thinking about a fire in the fireplace, call a chimney sweep to clean yours. Dirty chimneys are a leading cause of house fires. Not a good way to end the year. One way to keep toasty warm is to make sure you have enough insulation in your attic. If you can see your insulation is level with your joists in the attic, you are fine, but if the insulation is below, you might consider adding a layer of batting to make up the difference. Whether you have company or not, getting out the holiday decorations are sure to add cheer to your home. Try out the lights before you hang them; toss those that are frayed or worn. Consider getting LED lights as they use less power, last longer and stay cooler than older incandescent bulbs. If you have a list of to-do’s you’ve meant to get to, December 30th is the Festival of Enormous Changes at the Last Minute. It’s your chance to get those loose ends tied up!
