May 2025 Newsletter
May can be a very busy month, with graduations, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, and probably some birthdays as well. Luckily, the weather is nicer, so a lot of festivities can be held outdoors, or downtime can be spent soaking in some sun or relaxing in the shade.
May is National Electrical Safety Month, so it would be a good time to check your home’s electrical system and everything connected to it. If you see damaged cables or cords, get them replaced ASAP, especially if they are around water. Check power strips to make sure they aren’t overloaded, and they have a surge protection feature. If you are using an extension cord to power something permanently, like a window AC unit, now is the time to get an outlet installed near the appliance. Extension cords are not designed to work continuously. Lastly, check your outdoor lights to make sure they are in working order.
May is also Clean Air Month, so now would be a good time to change filters in your HVAC system. If there are any breathing issues among members of the household, perhaps an air quality test might be in order.
If you are hosting some outdoor gatherings, give your grill a deep cleaning so it works more efficiently and to prevent flare-ups. Clean the grates and interior with a brush and wash the exterior with warm, soapy water. Do the same for your grilling tools. Also, check the fuel line for cracks and clean any clogged burner holes.
Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence
Speaking of anniversaries, this month is a major milestone for us. May 19th marks the 30th anniversary of Willet Construction. A business started by Rick & Marcia Willet to provide top-quality service and craftsmanship for an exceptional experience that results in customers for life. A lot of you have been through the Willet experience, and we couldn’t thank you enough for your patronage. Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Here’s a glimpse from back in the day with Brian, Jason, and Rick Willet.
Building Progress
Exterior siding is going up, insulation has been installed, and drywall is starting, along with the concrete around the exterior.
Welcome, New Baby!
Help us welcome the newest Willet! Lyron Garrick was born to Jason and Heather on April 22nd, weighing in at 7 lb 7 oz. His brothers and sisters are thrilled with the new addition, and someone is always by his side.
Remodeler’s Advantage Roundtable
Last month, Jason and Jeremy attended their respective Remodeler’s Advantage Roundtable meetings. They met with peers from other remodeling companies from around the country for an intensive few days to compare notes and offer suggestions on how to improve service and procedure. Jeremy’s group (consisting of Production Managers) met in Seattle, WA. Hosted by CRD Design Build.
Jason’s group of business owners was hosted by Metke Remodeling & Luxury Homes in Lake Oswego, OR. Jason was even voted MVP by his Roundtable group.
In the photo, Jason is being handed his award by Doug Howard, the group facilitator. We look forward to the spring of 2026, when Willet Construction will be hosting both groups.
JLC Update
The guys attended some workshops where they learned new techniques to improve production.
They also saw this cool table made from a whole tree displayed by an R.I. company that could be yours for only $15,000.

Design Corner
Inspiration can come from many different places. It can come from a favorite art piece, a cherished heirloom, or a favorite color. If something catches your eye, build on that for your room or home design. Don’t feel like everything has to match, however. It’s ok to combine styles, as long as there is something that ties them together, say colors or recurring shapes.
Fun Fact
If you are looking to get away from it all, Point Nemo is the place for you. And if Nemo sounds familiar, yes, it’s named after Jules Verne’s Captain Nemo from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Point Nemo is a spot in the Pacific Ocean that is about 1,670 miles from the nearest land.
