March Newsletter
March is known for unpredictable weather, March Madness basketball, and St. Patrick’s Day. It can also be the month for Mardi Gras, but that fell in February this year. With all the craziness that can happen in March, you might need some chores to focus on. The first day of spring also falls this month, so why not start your spring cleaning?
- Start with cleaning mirrors and table lamps. Clean the bulbs in the lamps with a soft cloth. Soon your home will be shiny and bright.
- Refresh your entry by putting away hats and mittens and making room for muddy boots. Add a rubber mat to keep your floor dry and perhaps add an umbrella holder.
- We can start removing layers of blankets or swap heavier for lighter ones.
- Get your outdoor furniture ready for use by cleaning it off. Launder washable cushion covers and replace anything worn out. While you’re at it, inspect your deck for loose boards or nails. If it’s time to get yours replaced, we know a guy.
- Dust high corners and baseboards to get rid of any cobwebs and dust.
- Take the time to give your small appliances a good scrubbing that you might bypass during your usual kitchen clean-up.
- Change furnace filters and make sure gutters are clear.
- Treat yourself to some pretty spring flowers to brighten your home and your mood. Daffodils are usually inexpensive and plentiful this month if you’d like to get them planted in the yard.
Nebraska Builders Home & Garden Show
Last month was the Nebraska Builders Home & Garden Show. We saw a lot of familiar faces and met some new friends. We appreciate everyone who stopped by to say “hi”.
Kitchen & Bath Industry Show
February was also the annual KBIS (Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) dedicated to kitchen & bath design. This year it was held in Orlando, FL. Rick, Jason and Jonathan attended to see the latest trends, products, and technologies.

Design Corner

The color wheel can be used to create a cohesive design in any room. Complimentary colors (those that sit opposite each other on the wheel) can create a sharp contrast in your room. For instance, red and green, blue and orange, or yellow and purple are complimentary colors and can be used together in a room.
Fun Fact

St Patrick’s Day is based on the patron saint of Ireland. It is said that he banished snakes from Ireland, but scientific evidence suggests snakes never lived there. But he did use the clover to teach about the Trinity.
