The homeowners for this project had lived in their house for 25 years and were ready for some changes. They knew what they didn’t like, what wasn’t working for them, and called us for help.
First, they wanted to add an island with seating for better interaction with the living room.
We designed an “L” island to integrate seating.
The desk area was under-utilized and collected clutter. They also needed more pantry storage.
We designed a coffee bar to sit in between pantry cabinets in coordinating finishes. The backsplash used on the other walls was carried over to the coffee bar.
They wanted to remove the range and replace it with a cooktop and wall oven. We added a hood vent and applied the backsplash tile to the ceiling.
We also moved the door to the laundry room for better flow and to allow for the island. The fridge received new cabinetry for a built-in look.
The corner kitchen sink was replaced with a double-bowl unit, along with new faucet.
The laundry room now has a utility sink to wash off those garden vegetables, before they make their way into the kitchen. This is also a mudroom between the garage and kitchen.
New flooring and paint were applied throughout the main floor, and lighting updated. Quartz countertops were installed, with a little glitzier one applied to the island. The cabinets were done in two shades and heights for added interest, with crown molding applied to all the uppers. Now the homeowners can enjoy their kitchen another 25 years.
